History Of Baccarat
Baccarat, one of the oldest and most popular games of
chance, has a fascinating history that dates back hundreds of centuries. The oldest known written
history of Baccarat says that the game was invented in 1490AD. Its' name is
derived from the Italian word for "zero". Two interesting stories tell the story of how the game was
created. One is based on mythology, the other is about an Italian gambler.
Baccarat's mythology is about a blonde virgin, who was to perform an Etruscan ritual with nine gods. While the virgin rolled a nine-sided die, the gods waited on their tips. Her fate was sealed when the die landed. She would be destined for one of three fates depending on which number the die landed on. บาคาร่า The virgin who lands on the 8 or 9 will become a priestess. The church would ban the virgin from any religious activities if she landed on either the 6 or 7 numbers. If the die landed on a number lower than 6, the virgin's fate would be worse. She would likely walk into the parish and drown in the sea.
It is not clear if the original game was created in
France or Italy. Baccarat's
origin is most commonly believed to have been invented in 1490 AD by Felix
Falguirerein, an Italian gambler. He used a deck Tarot cards. The four Tarot suits have been used for predicting a
person's fate since ancient times. These four suits were the foundation of the
four cards suites that are used today.
Baccarat was first played only by noblemen during its
early years. It was also illegal at the time. France recognized how much
money was being transferred and made it legal. They taxed the winnings. This tax was used to help poor areas in the country. Baccarat was again illegalized during Napoleon's rule in
France. However, the game was legalized after Napoleon's death and is now
allowed to be played in casinos.
Baccarat was a very popular game. People all over Europe
started playing it and the popularity spread beyond Europe. Baccarat was first played
in South America, west of the Atlantic Ocean.
Tommy Renzoni introduced an Americanized Baccarat in the
1950s. This new
version combined the European Baccarat with the French 'Chermin de fer. The game was quickly adopted by the Dunes Casino in Las
Vegas. Mini Baccarat was born due to the
limitations of the original version. It is now being played in American casino.
